Isle of Palms Marina

Picture
I've been running fishing charters out of the Isle of Palms Marina since the 1990's and the facilities get better every year. I meet my guests at my jet dock directly in front of Islander 71 restaurant, just west of the boat ramp. The Marina Outpost has everything you might need for your charter and a whole lot more. Mark and his crew at the SALTWORKS GRILL get there early for tasty breakfasts and cook mouth watering cheeseburgers and other favorites for lunch until 3pm.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy
I'll need a $200 deposit via PayPal (paypal.me/bgalderman3), Venmo (@Ben-Alderman-3), or CashApp ($bgalderman3) to reserve your day. I prefer using the apps so I don't ever have to receive and be responsible for your card information. If you don't have any of the apps I listed, they are easy to set up and they have built in encryption and other safety measures to keep your information private.

Cancellations or fishing charters due to weather are at my discretion. I assure you, that I aim to provide you with a great day on the water, so I won"t drag you out in nasty weather. If you want to give it a go, rain or shine, I'll take you out and give it our best shot. Countless days fishing in just about every conceivable condition has provided me with the skills to make it happen despite inclement weather.

Cancellations within one week of the scheduled day forfeit your deposit. No shows and last minute cancellations will be charged my whole fee.

What to Bring

Please bring appropriate attire that accounts for wind chill while under way. Layers are a good idea, as it usually warms up a great deal throughout the day. I may have sun block and bug spray on board, but bring your own in case I've run out. Polarized sun glasses are a must for any kind of sight-fishing and a hat really helps as well. I'll have a cooler with ice, but you'll need to bring any refreshments. Please don't pack your own cooler, as space is limited. Try not to wear shoes that mark the deck, but I can be flexible if you're not sure if they do. I provide all the fishing gear, but you are welcome to bring a favorite rod if you like. Fly fisherman should bring their own rod, but I can provide one for you if it didn't make the trip. I will have the appropriate flies on board to make them eat if they are in the mood for feathers!

I don't mind cleaning a few fish so a client can enjoy a sample of their catch, but I like to keep it to a minimum. Our redfish are territorial and will usually be right where I left them, if I leave them. Practicing catch and release ensures a vital fishery for the future, so I urge everyone to release their catch if they aren't going to be able to prepare it before leaving town.
